Bann Garden Club
On a hot Tuesday afternoon members of Bannockburn and District Gardening Club Inc drove to the home of Michelle Bishop in Winchelsea to see a beautiful garden that had been planted over the past three years. Michelle has a great love for David Austin roses, and we were privileged to see a beautiful collection of roses set among cottage perennials and lovely trees
Michelle breeds Arabian horses and the manure has been used extensively under a good layer of pea straw used as a good water saving mulch. On such a hot day members (and Michelle's dog) sat under the wide varandas front and back, enjoying the shade and the wonderful perfume of the roses. Michelle told us that she was lucky and had very few pests in her garden.
President Lyn Gadd gave Michelle a plant and thanked her for opening her garden to us.
Members drove to the Winchelsea Shire Hall tea rooms for a welcome afternoon tea.
There has been a change of venue for our meeting on 28th February we will meet at 5 Melissa Way Bannockburn. for an afternoon identifying weeds and learning how to get rid of them.

The gardening club is always happy to welcome new members, we are a very friendly group, our gardens range from large gardens on acres of land to members living in units and enjoying a few pot plants. We share our plants and our knowledge, visit nurseries and members and local gardens.
