The Bannockburn & District Community Newsletter Inc (A1399N) commenced in 1981 and is a non-profit incorporated company run by community volunteers. It produces 10 monthly newsletters each year and distributes them free to most households in the Bannockburn District of the Golden Plains Shire, Victoria, Australia.

Our aim is to provide a means for local clubs and organisations to communicate with their local community. We also provide the opportunity for businesses and local tradesmen to advertise to their community at a reasonable cost with maximum exposure. This advertising also enables us to cover the cost of printing, distribution and administration.

The newsletter is printed commercially in Geelong by Print Design as an A4, black and white publication with full colour front and back pages both sides and some colour pages inside. From our beginning we have endeavoured to maximise the quality of production in order to ensure the ongoing viability of the Newsletter.

Currently we produce 3000 copies of 96 pages. We use Macintosh computers and deliver copy to our printer electronically. Our main publishing program is Adobe In Design. We also use Photoshop and Microsoft Word extensively and Parallels to run Windows to access files received by us in Publisher and other PC formats not accessible using the Apple platform.

We commenced our website in 2008 to facilitate distribution of district news to people who are outside our normal delivery area, away on holidays or who have moved from the district and wish to keep up with local events. It has also given us the opportunity to develop a business and community directory and a district calendar of events.
