The Man from Snowy River

Now that we have recovered from “Movies in the Bush”  we are starting a new season of our “Film Society” movie shows.

These shows are a social evening featuring good classic films which are rarely screened at other venues or on TV.  They also include a segment called “Something from the Vault” – a short film, which you are unlikely to ever see anywhere else, drawn from the 125 year history of film making;  sometimes old, sometimes new.  The movies are followed by Greg’s scones with jam and cream supper.

To start this season we present an Australian classic-

Friday 14th June at 7:30pm

Shire Offices Complex  –  Pope St, Bannockburn

Our new , fully air conditioned, venue for this season will offer a cosier, more comfortable atmosphere to enjoy the show.  There is easy access with close parking.   For those who are not familiar with the area we will put up some signs on the night to help you find us.

This season we hope to present one of these shows approximately  every two months.  Currently we are compiling a list of what we think are suitable films with a good mix of adventure, older classics  and comedies.   The suggested program will be available for comment at the show.  The season will include a nostalgia night with a selection of early TV shows.  The last one of these was enjoyed by all who attended.

Remember that everybody who attends these Film Society shows becomes a member of the society and is entitled to have a say on programs and the way we operate;  there is, however, absolutely no commitment to do anything other than to enjoy the show.

Hope to see you there.
