Golden Plains Heritage Strategy


Golden Plains Shire is preparing a heritage strategy to assist in meeting heritage obligations set out in the Planning and Environment Act 1987.

This strategy will help address the identification, protection, management and promotion of the region's heritage.

The Strategy will include a list of heritage related actions relevant to Golden Plains Shire, with the aim of addressing them over four years. We are seeking community feedback to assist us to refine and prioritise actions to be included in the Strategy. 

Council officers and Heritage Advisor will be hosting two community ‘drop-in’ sessions to offer residents the opportunity to discuss the Strategy and provide input. Council’s Heritage Advisor will also be available to discuss any general heritage issues. The ‘drop-in’ sessions will be held at: 

Linton Recreation Reserve 
Blue Room , 9 Brooke Street, Linton 
Tuesday 13 August 2013 
5:00pm – 7:00pm 

Bannockburn Cultural Centre 
Leigh Room , 27 High Street, Bannockburn 
Tuesday 20 August 2013 
5:00pm – 7:00pm 

You are invited to drop in and contribute any time during the sessions. You may also wish to contribute through our community survey which can be found at: 
goldenplains.vic.gov.au 
• Bannockburn Customer Service Centre, 2 Pope Street Bannockburn 
• Linton Customer Service Centre, 68 Sussex Street Linton 
• Drop in sessions in Linton and Bannockburn. 

Surveys must be submitted to Council by Friday 5 September 2013.
