Bannockburn Scouts Attend Region Regatta

First Bannockburn Scouts finished the 2014 camping season with a successful camp at the Geelong Region Regatta, held at Indented Heads.

The annual water-activities camp included canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and sailing.

Scouts of all ages competed in boat races, swimming races, a water marathon, and the “iron scout”.  After a day in the water, the scouts feasted on a spit roast prepared by a parent.

Nine scouts and four leaders attended the event. Heavy rain on Saturday night did not dampen the Scouts’ spirits as they entered the water for a second day of races.

Regular scout meetings at the Bannockburn Hall finish up in the first week of December. Meetings will resume at the Hall on Thursday evenings in February.
