Food for Thought

Are you interested in growing, sharing, selling or eating food?

Council is currently gathering information about the food system in the Golden Plains Shire, to inform future actions to improve food access and security for our community.

As part of this project we would like to hear from community members about how you currently access food for yourselves and your families, if you have any problems getting enough good quality food, and if you have any ideas or solutions to improve food access and security in the Shire.

We are encouraging all community members to take the short Food Access survey at before the 19th of June 2015 to help us to gain a better understanding of our local food issues. Everyone who completes a survey will go into the draw to win one of four $50 Supermarket vouchers. Individuals can also visit The Well, Dereel Community Centre, Northern Community Centre, Linton Shire Office or Bannockburn Cultural Centre to provide their feedback.

Once we have gathered this information we will be inviting all interested organisations, businesses, community groups and individuals across the Shire to come together at a local Food Forum to come up with ideas together about how we can improve the food experience for our communities.
