Bannockburn Chamber of Commerce

Report on Executive Committee meeting held on the 14th of October 14th 2015 at the Golden Plains Library

General Business Report
The main issues from the Chamber’s perspective facing our business members are as follows:-

•  Need for security cameras in both the commercial center of town and around the Industrial Estate;

•  Improved street lighting on both High and Holder Roads;

•  Town signage on both the Midland and Hamiliton Highways;

•  The need to promote a buy local campaign

The lack of tangible action on the redevelopment of the Country Plaza shopping Centre is alarming. It's continual delay is hurting local businesses as it takes economic activity away from the township. Many local businesses are very dependent on the trade the shopping center pulls and the lack of the re-development after many years of chatter is most alarming.

Over time there have been a number of comments on when the re-development will start from a variety of sources. Traders are anxious that this redevelopment is progressed without further delay.

Social Barbeque Night
The Chamber is holding a family barbeque as part of its year end  social gathering. The barbeque is at the Bannockburn Golf Club on Wednesday, December 9th from 6pm to 8am. We hope to see all members and their families on the night

Next Meeting
The next Executive Committee meeting in on November 11th 2015 at the Golden Plains Library, starting at 5.30pm and all members are welcome to attend.
