Artists: get STARTed with a Golden Plains grant

Artists who live or work in Golden Plains can apply for START, Golden Plains Shire Council's new Arts Grant program, by submitting a project that will benefit the Golden Plains community.

There are six grants of $500 available to individual professional and non-professional artists and arts groups, for art in any medium.

Artists can apply online, and applications close 18 January 2016.

The successful artists will also be invited to the Arts Trail launch in early March.

Mayor, Cr Des Phelan says, "This is a fantastic initiative for Golden Plains artists and community members. Council is committed to supporting our arts community and developing arts and culture across the Shire.”

“We have many creative people and groups throughout our 56 communities and 16 townships, as evidenced by the annual Arts Trail, held in conjunction with the Golden Plains Arts Inc.”

“We are looking forward to seeing what our creative residents put forward and create.”

Applications can be submitted by visiting www.goldenplainsdigital.com.au/arts-grants-2015-2016

The START grants support the goals set out in Golden Plains Shire Council’s Arts and Culture Strategy (2013 – 2017) of ‘Activating arts leadership’, ’Inspiring communities’ ‘Cultivating creativity support’ and ‘Imagining Places’.
