Training for Community Groups, Clubs and Volunteers in GPS

Golden Plains Shire is committed to providing quality training and support to all community groups, clubs and individual volunteers within the Shire.

With this in mind Council conducted a training survey at the end of 2015 to ascertain community training needs and we have developed the 2016 Training Calendar in response to your feedback.

Council has sourced quality presenters for the training workshops and this year we have set a minimum attendance for each session to ensure value for money. Reminders will be sent prior to each training workshop and it is essential that you register for the  workshops to ensure they go ahead and for catering purposes.

The Training Calendar will be distributed in two parts: March – July 2016 and Aug – November 2016. Please find the March – July 2016 calendar attached for your information and distribution to your networks.

The first training workshop is titled ‘Incorporation 101’ and will be conducted by Gary Jennings from Consumer Affairs Victoria on the following dates:

Mon 7th  March
6.00 – 8.00pm (food provided)
Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 27 High St, Bannockburn

Wed 9th March
6.00 – 8.00pm (food provided)
The Well, 19 Heales St, Smythesdale

The training will provide:

· an overview of the pros and cons of being an incorporated organisation

· advice on how to become incorporated

· an overview of the legal responsibilities of an incorporated organisation

Cost: FREE (Minimum of 15 participants required)
