Maude Fire Brigade

Summer Fire Restrictions are still in force, and you are reminded that it is illegal to burn without a permit until the Restrictions are lifted. Keep in touch with the media for Total Fire Ban days – we are in the Central Fire District. The lifting of Fire Restrictions will be advertised in the local press.

The Brigade has had a busy summer, and thanks those who have responded to the pager messages. Many of the callouts have been to deliberately lit fires, which is of great concern. Many members have also been involved in fires outside our area, including the Otways and Scotsburn.

The Comms Officer is particularly grateful to those members who respond to pager messages promptly – it helps to know who is available!

The annual Christmas barbecue was held at the Fire station on Saturday, December 12th. A good crowd attended in very pleasant weather. The children were kept busy in the Jumping Castle and their parents were able to relax and enjoy the night. Santa came for a visit and distributed lollies to the children.

We are now beginning planning for our annual Trash, Treasure and Craft Market to be held as usual on the first Sunday in May, this year the date being the 1st May. Donations to our White elephant stall will be gratefully accepted. Stall sites are free, and we invite you to be part of this fun day at the Maude Fire station. For stall sites and information, please ring Kath, 5281 9301, or Bev, 5282 8952

The next meeting of the Brigade Sub-Committee will be held on Monday, 4th April 2016 at 7.30 at the Fire Station. Any interested local folk will be warmly welcomed.
