Bannockburn Chamber of Commerce

Report on the executive meeting held on 9th March 2016 at the Golden Plains Library

The Chamber had a bank balance of $4256.53 as at 28th February 2016.

General Business
Assistance with the Inverleigh Good Friday Appeal was discussed and it was agreed to support this year with a $500 gift voucher. 

Australia Post has launched a “Small Business Hive” initiative to nurture and support small business with access to a co-working space at 108 Gheringhap Street Geelong..

The Chamber welcomed Councilor Andrew Cameron in attending the meeting and James Gulli from Vecci.

Councilor Cameron provided an opportunity to discuss a range of matters covering the economic outlook for the shire, where will future employment come from, the re-development of the Country Plaza, the street scape on High Street, parking on the median strip on High Street, Street Lighting, Security Cameras, Town Signage, the Holder Street Estate and the Shire’s purchasing policy in terms of supporting local business. Councilor Cameron indicated that he would follow up on a number of matters and report back to the Chamber. Councilor Cameron will also provide us with information of the Shire’s purchasing policy in regard to local business. It was a great opportunity for the interchange of information and the Chamber looks forward to having the Mayor or his representation attend future executive meetings. 

James Gulli provided an outline on the range of activities and services provided by VCCI (Victorian Chamber of Commerce) James outlined the agreement with the Bannockburn Chamber which provides our members with VCCI membership at reduced rates.  The “Essentials cost is $644, our cost is $322, The “Complete” membership which includes a HR advice line is $1076 and our cost is $914.60.
