Water for Victoria

The Victorian Government has released a Water for Victoria discussion paper summarising the key challenges facing the water sector and outlining how Victorians can strengthen their water system for decades to come.

The government is now calling on Victorians to have their say at a public consultation session in Geelong.

Barwon Water Managing Director Joe Adamski said: “I encourage our customers and the local community to join the conversation by attending one of the Water for Victoria community forums.”

The forums seek to:

  • provide a broad introduction to the Water for Victoria discussion paper
  • capture community feedback on key elements of the discussion paper and key local or regional issues
  • provide information on how to make a submission to inform the final water plan.

“Community input is critical and we want to tap into local experiences and knowhow. This is a great opportunity for all of us to have our say,” Mr Adamski said.

The community workshop will be held at the Geelong West Town Hall, 153 Pakington Street,
Geelong West, on Monday, April 18, from 6pm to 8pm.
