Shelford Primary School

Shelford Primary Takes Aths Title
Shelford Primary School senior students took part in the Moorabool Valley Association athletic sports at Goldsworthy Park in Corio recently and won this year’s event. The proud yet humble children had this to say:

On Tuesday the 19th of April we went to the MVA Athletics at Goldsworthy Reserve. We left school early at 8am and made our way to the competition. We competed all of the events. I got 15 points for the school. When they announced the winners we found out we had won! I really didn’t expect it. Teesdale came 2nd. It was very close. We won by just 0.2%. It felt amazing to win. It was the best day of my life. I hope we can train hard and win again next year.

On Tuesday the 19th of April our school went to the MVA Athletics at Goldsworthy Reserve. There were 6 schools competing and eight events. My favourite event for the day was Long Jump. When we had all finished it was time to announce the winners. In 6th place was Anakie, in 5th Lethbridge, then Meredith in 4th. Then they announced that 3rd place was Inverleigh and 2nd place was….Teesdale. “OMG! WE WON,” we screamed! We all ran out to get the shield. I held it up in front of all of the schools. We all felt so excited and proud.

On Tuesday our school went to the MVA Athletics. There were 8 events. When we arrived we got put into our groups. I was in the Under12/13 Boys. In each of the events you were given a score of 1, 2 or 3. When they announced the winner we were surprised to find out that we had WON! It was very close with Teesdale who we beat by only 0.2%.We all did our very best on the day and we were all so proud of our hard work and training. When they called us up we were very surprised. I had a fantastic day and we are all looking forward to next year.

On Tuesday the 19th of April we went to the MVA Athletics at Goldsworthy Reserve. We left school early and made our way to the competition. We competed in 8 events during the day and competed against 5 other schools. My favourite event for the day was Long Jump and Triple Jump. I got 11 points for my school. At the end of the day the scores got added up and we won. I was happy and astonished when we won. I hope that we can keep training and win again next year so we can keep the shield.
