Bannockburn Football & Netball Club

At the end of a very successful season unfortunately we don’t have much silverware to show for it!

The Colts - a blended team with South Barwon, the jewel in our crown - winning a nail biting cliff hanger of a Grand Final by 3pts! Our lads holding their nerve as Ammos peppered the goals in the dying minutes - such jubilation! Aaron Down voted BOG! Well done to everyone concerned- a fantastic effort!

Our U/16 having played off for the flag - but not to be on this occasion - another fantastic effort, U/14 made it to the finals, but found their opposition too good on the day - great effort lads! Unfortunately our resies lost their elimination final by one lousy point, having the better of the day, but not being able to capitalise. Bad luck fella’s, hard when you have so many players through the ranks! Need you all back next season!

Our seniors having carried all before them put in a shocker in the GF steamrolled by a rampant BPH, unable to find the goals in the second half. A disappointing finish to all the promise of the season!

That’s over, time to regroup and look forward to completing the task in 2017!

Our netballers suffered the highs and lows of finals, but most importantly so many of our teams made it into finals contention!

Our KP finals team just falling short in the GF, our G&DFL teams - 13&U going down in the GF, a blow to end an outstanding season!, 15’s bowing out in the 1st semi, 17’s not making it through the elimination final, D & C grades out in straight sets, all games hotly contested. B’s missing out in the Prelim, and the “A”s, our first A team to make it to the GF!! Unfortunately not able to match it with Werribee who finished the season unbeaten.

No silver reward for our Club; but what an outstanding year all round! An absolute credit to all those involved; how proud are we as a Club!  Look forward to seeing you all back for season 2017!

How proud are we of our home grown Colts player Billy McIntosh, winning his division B&F, The Spirit of Sport Award and the Ray Ettridge Medal! Boy Billy, what a night, we are stoked for you, and so well deserved; a great footballer, and a great sportsman; a Tiger through and through! Congrats too to Jamieson Jervies who won their Colts goal kicking! Great effort Jamo!

League B&F and leading league goal scorers Ella Wasik 13&U, Georgia Connors 15&U B&F, B&F and leading goal scorer Melissa Brauman “D”, leading goal scorer Tegan Smyth “B”. 13’s Abby Blackley 3rd, Georgia Connors “B” 3rd, Shannon Pietsch 3rd. Wonderful results for the girls and our Club!

Congrats too to all our players who were selected in “teams of the year”, we proud of your achievements- what great role models!

Thanks to the committee for their tireless work day in day out. To all those who gave so generously of their time and skills to keep the Club ticking along! A big Club, a huge job!

Due to work commitments Deniel is unable to continue in the Presidents role - A big thank you to him for his work-…. So please give it some thought - what can you do to help spread the load?! Plenty of jobs and plenty of fun!

AGM Sunday 23rd October 11am- please come along to show your support! Clubs need people!

As always a most sincere thanks to our wonderful sponsors; unfortunately some of our sponsors were unable to continue, and for that we are truly sorry; a huge thanks! To those who have seen their way clear and honoured their commitment we are extremely grateful - we understand the financial, and external constraints that impact businesses and individuals; and your on going support has been vital to our viability; can’t say thanks enough! I Hope you can find your way clear to continue your pledge in 2017!

All our teams have held their presentation functions and to all trophy winners- CONGRATULATIONS AND WELL DONE!
