Maude Recreation Reserve

No doubt partly due to the large roadside signs pointing to the Bunjil Lookout at the Recreation Reserve, there has been a significant increase in the number of visitors to the Reserve. Thank you to the Golden Plains Shire for these signs – we love sharing our area with visitors!

There are still more sugar gums to be removed from the area near the lookout while they are in a manageable state. Then comes the big task of replanting with suitable native vegetation – too late for this year on such an exposed site, but at least this gives us plenty of time to do the all important planning for the area.

A very comprehensive plan for future development at the Reserve has been formalized and looks fantastic! More play equipment, fitness stations, a Bocce court, more picnic tables and extra barbecue space are among the suggested features – not forgetting the lookout!

When all the new elements are completed, the Maude Recreation Reserve will be a place well worth spending a day, with plenty of things for children and adults alike. The faithful cleaning crew will continue their good work, and you can be assured of a pleasant visit.

The next meeting of the Maude Recreation Reserve Committee of Management will be held at the Maude Tennis Pavilion on Monday, 3rd October at 7.30pm.

The Maude Recreation Reserve is on Steiglitz Rd, the main road through the Maude township where the old Primary School used to be and next to the fire station.
