Golden Plains Shire Council Community Grants 2017/18

Applications for Council’s Community Grants Program 2017/18 open on 1 February 2017, offering grants of up to $5,000.

The Community Grants Program enables community groups to further meet the needs of the wider community in a partnership with Council.

Grants of up to $5,000 are provided on a matched basis with the community group’s contribution provided in-kind or in cash.

Mayor, Cr Des Phelan says that Golden Plains communities have a fantastic history of making the most of Council’s Community Grants Program.

“I encourage community groups to look at their local needs, their recreation and meeting areas, and think about even more creative and innovative ways to enhance their spaces and projects.”

Previous successful grant recipients include:

  • Redevelopment of the former Scarsdale Railway station site providing a community recreation open space and stopover point along the Ballarat – Skipton Rail Trail

  • Replacement of playground equipment at Pioneer Park in Meredith, providing new opportunities for families to build social connections and be physically active

To be eligible to apply, organisations must be:

  • Not-for-profit or equivalent
  • Incorporated or managed as a Council or Crown Committee
  • Have no outstanding projects or evaluations from the Community Grants Program pre 2016/17

Applications close Tuesday 28 February 2017 and can be submitted online via www.goldenplains.vic.gov.au/communitygrants
