Lethbridge Primary School

We have had a wonderful start to the school year at Lethbridge Primary School. Our new Preps have settled in beautifully and are very hard workers already! We all enjoyed our annual Welcome Back Family Picnic early in the term and we very quickly got into the business of learning.

At the beginning of the term, our Year 6 students all gave articulate, confident and considered speeches, with the student body electing Emily and Matthew to be our School Captains. Jimmy and Lil were elected Vice Captains of the school.

Our House Captains are:
Red House: Luke and Grace
Blue House: Levi and Chelsea
Green House: Ashton and Lily
Gold House: Lachlan and Miranda

All of our Year 6 students have been to Melbourne to attend the GRIP Student Leadership Conference and have come back enthused about their ability to make a difference. They have run a number of successful fundraisers for charity already this term, including one for the Andrew Love Cancer Centre. The students connected this with our participation in the Real Food Festival event. Most recently they have raised money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. We are already very proud of their proactive and altruistic leadership behaviours and we are looking forward to seeing their growth throughout this final year of primary school.

This has been a very active term, with the students participating in soccer clinics, hockey clinics, the MVA Athletics, the school cross country, and Ride2School day, in addition to our usual daily fitness program, physical education program and weekly team sports.

The children have been enjoying Specialist classes in Italian, Science, Visual Art, Library, and MARC Van, and they have also been enjoying lunchtime Clubs. With all of this activity around the school, I can’t wait to see what we get up to in Term 2!

Please note, enrolment packs are being provided to families early in term 2. Please notify your Kindergarten if you are intending to enrol your child at Lethbridge Primary School for 2018 so that we can provide you with a pack. Alternatively, you are able to call the office on 52817214 and request a school tour, and/or a pack to be sent out.

Kind Regards,
