Maude Fire Brigade News

This weekend is the end of daylight saving for another year. This is the time to check those smoke alarm batteries! The alarms will be of no use if the batteries are flat – and surely your life is worth more than the cost of a new battery.

When you sleep, your sense of smell does too, so you can’t depend on smelling the smoke to give warning of a house fire. Luckily hearing is still on duty, so the squeal of the smoke alarm is a very effective way of warning you of danger.

DON’T BECOME A STATISTIC – CHECK THOSE BATTERIES TODAY!

The next meeting of the Maude Fire Brigade will be held at the Maude Tennis Pavilion on Wednesday, April 26th at 7:30 pm, when elections for all positions will be held. This includes positions in the Fundraising sub committee.

The next meeting of the Fundraising sub committee will be held at the Fire Shed on Wednesday, 24th May at 7.30pm.

At our last meeting, final arrangements were made for the Trash, Treasure and Craft Market on 7th May. There is no charge for stall holders, and we hope for lots of support on the day. There will be lots of things for children to enjoy, especially the animal farm and of course the geriatric clown. The brigade will have the usual barbecue with those delicious egg and bacon sandwiches.
