Bannockburn Football & Netball Club

Things going pretty well with the seniors sitting on top of the ladder, all be it the Anzac Day win was by one point from a mark taken as the siren sounded and a behind kicked! What jubilation!

A huge thanks to Mal Johns for conducting the pre game Anzac service and address. I spent some time reflecting on his words ...  About rivalry, comradeship, sportsmanship and friendship ... somehow that's not necessarily the way it played out - it's a game of football, it's a very special day and should be respected as that.

Boy what a busy day it was with all hands on deck, cooking cooking and more cooking! Etc etc! Thanks for your help! Crowd was huge!

The week prior v North was a most memorable one with beautiful sunny blue sky; a real shorts and tee shirt day. Senior game underway, suddenly the dark clouds rolled in with plenty of crashing and banging in the heavens, then down came the rain, a good old fashion thunder storm! The umpies dashed off the ground closely followed by the players! For almost half an hour we hung around, waiting waiting for the weather to clear, out came the sun and on with the game! Needless to say a late finish to the game! Unfortunately the A grade netball was  a wash out.

Last game after the 3 day break saw some of the players a bit slow out of the blocks but eventually they came good! Good wins in the footy and netty!

The young footy players still in grading rounds, and little league under way, all be it without Friday night home games - lighting not good enough according to AFL Barwon! To my mind a poorly thought decision putting lots of pressure on families as other games are pushed to a Sunday!  And the senior footballers train under these lights twice a week!

Congrats to footballers Jack Brauman, Brad Watts, Kieran Fulton, Connor Jervies Tom Parsons Jake Peters Jason Tom& Ben Stretten on being named in the Interleague squad playing North Central FL on May 13th. Good luck!

Coming up on the social scene Ladies Day May 20th trivia night May 27th Mid Season Ball June 10th. More info on social media!
