Bannockburn Anglers Club

We have completed two outings since I last spoke to you. We had a successful weekend away at Lake Bullen Merri on April 28th- 30th with 12 club members staying at the Camperdown Fishing Club clubrooms and a number of others at Purrumbete. The winners for the weekend were Matt Giles with a .500kg redfin and John Scanlon with a .335kg trout.

We followed this up with another weekend away, this time to Rocklands on May 19th- 21st. This is always a popular outing with 20 members taking part this year with lots of socialising as well as some fishing! The redfin were on the bite with many fish being caught off the banks. Jason Levy took out the Robbie Taylor memorial trophy with the heaviest redfin weighing in at 1.065kg. Todd Broughton caught a lovely rainbow trout (see photo) .930kg and Jack Giles caught a .310kg redfin to take out the junior trophy.

Our next outing is a weekend away at Warrnambool on June 16th-18th where the club members stay at a local caravan park near the river. Weigh in will be at midday on Sunday with target fish of bream and estuary perch.

We will be holding an open/information day on Sunday August 27th with guest speakers, casting demonstrations and general fishing information. We will be running this at the Murgheboluc Hall starting at 11am.

Bannockburn Anglers Club welcomes new members. We have regular outings usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month and fish both freshwater and saltwater. Please call Robbie on 0439717183 or email us at bannockburnanglers@gmail.com if you are interested in joining us.
