Sunday Afternoon Soiree

Featuring local musicians Joannes Roose & Lisa Peters-Roose and Utilizing the acoustic qualities of St Pauls, Inverleigh

After a Churchill Fellowship in flute and conducting in Vienna and Siena, Joannes worked as a conductor and teacher in South Australia, and was Dean of the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music for ten years before moving to Victoria.  

He has been Director of Music at The Geelong College, Professor of Conducting at the Defence Force School of Music, lectured at Monash University and The VCA, and conducted numerous orchestras in Melbourne.  

He is currently Musical Director of the Melbourne Sinfonia, one of Melbourne’s finest orchestras providing pleasure to players and audiences alike and raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Lisa taught music at Toorak College Mount Eliza for fourteen years and won the Mt Eliza Rotary Club Teacher of The Year award. On moving to Inverleigh in 2001, Lisa started the ‘Ants Pants Music & Dance’ school in the Inverleigh Hall, exploring voice, instrumental playing and creative dance.   Currently she teaches at Geelong Grammar School Bostock House in Geelong and the Steiner School at Freshwater Creek. She is an enthusiast for life and music and is looking forward to sharing this concert with Joannes
