Bannockburn Anglers Club

The fishing outing to Bullen Merri/Purrumbete on July 16th turned out to be a very dismal day with some fishers turning round before they even put a rod in the water!

Trophies were won by Matthew Giles with a .525kg redfin and Greg Leach with a 1.4kg quinet. Jack Giles took out the junior trophy with a .490kg redfin. Well done to all those who braved the elements.

We will be holding a family fishing day at the Bannockburn lagoon on Sunday October 15th coinciding with ‘Gone Fishing’ day which allows everyone to have a go at fishing without needing a licence.

The day will run from 11am to 2pm and the club will provide a sausage sizzle and drinks.

We will provide information, fishing rods and reels and guidance on how to cast and catch a fish. The lagoon will have been recently stocked with small trout so hopefully you will be able to land some fish.

There will be show bags for the children with lots of fishing information. So come along with your fishing rods and have a fish at your local fishing spot.

The club will be holding its AGM on Sunday August 6th from 11am at 74 Harvey Rd, Bannockburn.

Bannockburn Anglers Club welcomes new members. We have regular outings usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month and fish both freshwater and saltwater.

Please call Robbie on 0439 717 183 or email us at bannockburnanglers@gmail.com if you are interested in joining us.
