Bannockburn Community Celebrates Open Space

Bannockburn residents are enjoying their new open space corridor, which was officially opened by Parliamentary Secretary for Planning Jenny Mikakos in October.

Golden Plains Shire Council received Creating Better Places Grants totalling $241,500 for the construction of State One and Two of the path along Bruce’s Creek.

The funding for Golden Plains Shire Council contributed to the path to connect the southern and western areas of Bannockburn as well as the future education and recreation precincts.

Ms Mikakos said the path creates an important pedestrian and cyclist link between the key precincts of the Bannockburn township, along the natural feature of Bruce’s Creek

“This project will be a fantastic contribution to the liveability of the Bannockburn community and a proactive approach to ensure any future development is well connected,” Ms Mikakos said.”

“It will be a key off road alternative for residents of Bannockburn, providing strong pedestrian and cycling links within the town.
