Caring Volunteers Needed

The Meredith and District St Vincent de Paul Conference is seeking volunteers to help us assist people in need within our local community.

Being a SVDP volunteer will give you a chance to make a difference.  It is a chance to learn new skills and to use your existing talents and skills to enrich the lives of the people you meet.

SVDP is unique in that we meet people where they are.  We visit them in their homes and offer our friendship, support and material assistance for their needs.

For over 175 years, home visitation has remained the core work of the Society of St Vincent de Paul.  Home visitation is a way by which individuals and families can be supported and encouraged to take control of their lives.  It allows our volunteers the privileged opportunity to enter another’s home and life, to accompany them as they move forward.

The struggles of life can strike all of us and many of us will need a helping hand.  The Meredith and District St Vincent de Paul Conference is here to help.

Can you spare 1-2 hours per week to help our local conference with this much needed work?  We are calling out to people of all faiths to do Christ’s work to help the poor, the lonely and the vulnerable.

Our home visitation is always carried out in pairs and we have the resources of the Society to help us assist the families we meet.  All of our volunteers are provided with training.

Your greatest gift to a person in need is to be able to listen well and to have compassion for the plight of another. We aim to provide authentic examples of Christian love by reaffirming every person’s dignity, seeing the face of Christ in those in need.

Are you looking for the opportunity to put your faith into action?
Come and join us.
