Golden Plains Shire Community Grants Program 2012/13
The Community Grants Program was developed to assist community groups to further meet the needs of their local community in partnership with Council.
Grants are available to community groups for projects that provide benefit to the community. Examples include new community events, purchase of equipment and undertaking facility improvements projects.
“Council wishes to encourage residents to become involved in planning for their community’s needs. This program enables local residents to work together towards a common goal and the betterment of their local communities,” said Golden Plains Shire Mayor, Cr Geraldine Frantz.
Information Sessions
All applicants are strongly encouraged to attend an information session prior to submitting an application. At the information sessions, the application process is clearly explained and there are opportunities to discuss individual applications and to ask questions.
Bannockburn - Victoria Park, Tuesday 31st January 6.30pm - 7.30pm
Smythesdale - Recreation Reserve, Wednesday 1st February 6.30pm - 7.30pm
Rokewood - Recreation Reserve, Thursday 2nd February 6.30pm - 7.30pm
Since the program began in 1996, Council has allocated over $1.9 million in funding to more than $3.8 million worth of projects for the community.
“The community grants program is testimony to what a successful partnership between Council and the local community can achieve,” explained Cr Frantz.
The Community Grants guidelines and application forms will be available from Wednesday 1 February 2012 at the Bannockburn and Linton Customer Service Centres, the Smythesdale Business, Health and Community Hub, the Northern Community Centre, Haddon or by contacting Council on 5220 7182 or 5220 7111. Applications will also be available online at www.goldenplains.vic.gov.au.
Applications close 5.00pm Wednesday 29 February 2012.
